Intel has leaked the release date of Windows 11

Intel has leaked the release date for Windows 11 with support documentation for a variety of Intel processor hardware, in the leak, the s2Microsoft Windows 11 (64-bit) will appear in an October 2021 update. The lake also points to a build date for driver 30.0.100.9684 back on July 9, 2021.

The documentation includes Apollo Lake, Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffe Lake, Amber, Gemini, Whiskey, Comet, Ice, Lakefield, Jasper Lake, Tiger Lake, Rocket Lake, DG1, and Elkhart Lake. The readme link was available as of the posting of this article at just after 10:15 AM central time, July 20, 2021.

Microsoft has previously implied that users working with Windows 10 right now will not get an update to Windows 11 until the year 2022. A combination of these two bits of information suggests we’ll see the first hardware devices – NEW hardware devices – released with Windows 11 in around October of 2021. Releasing to manufacturing partners first allows new hardware to appear with Windows 11 before the general public has access to Windows 11, somewhat like what happens with every major operating system release from a company that sells their hardware with the board software onboard.
