Dell Alienware M18 announced with Intel 13th Gen

Dell has announced the Alienware M18, a gaming machine with a huge display.

The Dell Alienware M18 boasts an 18-inch display with two panels – a QHD+ resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate and another with an FHD+ resolution with a 480Hz refresh rate. The device offers a 3ms response time, 300 nits brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, and ComfortView Plus technology that is aimed to reduce blue light emissions.

The Alienware M18 sports a new Legend 3.0 design that is touted to deliver a beefy performance in its slim chassis. It has the same thickness as its predecessor with an aluminium top and bottom. There is an option to choose between two full-sized keyboards – Perkey AlienFX backlit or CherryMX ultra-low profile mechanical backlit keyboard. The laptop features a 720p webcam with IR sensors.

For the chips, the Dell Alienware M18 houses up to 13th generation Intel Core i9 processors paired with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU onboard. It will also be available in AMD Ryzen and Radeon CPU and GPU later this year. The machine packs up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and 9TB SSD storage. There are two user-replaceable DDR5 SO-DIM slots. The laptop is also equipped with an Element 31 thermal interface comprising seven heat pipes, expanded vapour chambers, and four ultra-thin fans for better cooling performance. The Alienware M18 is powered by a 97Wh battery unit with a massive 330W power adapter in the box.

The Dell Alienware M18 carries a starting price tag of $2,099 in the US, however, the company has announced that only higher-specced models will be available at the start. The base models will be available at a later date. The Alienware M16 starts at $1,899.
