Apple iPad Mini with next-gen M1 tech under development
The next iPad mini will enter the market in fall 2021. The upcoming 6th generation model will be the biggest redesign in the iPad mini's history.
The latest rendition of the Mini will share its design language with the new iPad Air and the iPad Pro series, which indicates flat edges, slimmer display bezels and possibly even a fingerprint scanner integrated within its power button. The new model could have an 8.5-inch display too, 0.6-inches larger than the iPad mini 5.
Reports suggest that the Cupertino base giants continue to work on a larger iMac equipped with its in-house silicon. Supposedly, Apple is trialling M1X or M2X SoCs, which Gurman has detailed previously. This device is intended to replace the 27-inch iMac, albeit while retaining its display size.
Unfortunately, this new 27-inch iMac will not arrive until after the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16.
